About Me
Tipelo Hildebrand is a Toronto-based neurodiverse actor, singer, collaborator, creator, and arts administrator driven by one simple belief: artists shouldn’t have to wait for permission to create.
Her love of the arts began at nine and has grown into a life centred around storytelling, collaboration, and creating opportunities for others. After experiencing firsthand how difficult it can be for emerging theatre artists to find spaces to develop, perform, and produce their work, Tipelo became passionate about helping build those opportunities herself.
As Director of Marketing & Outreach for Bird On Stage Productions, she leads audience engagement, community partnerships, and artist-focused initiatives while helping shape and grow the company. Her work includes bringing original productions to the stage and developing platforms such as Indie Stage, Bird on Page, and Beyond the Stage, all rooted in creating spaces for people to take risks, develop their voices, and connect through the arts.
A graduate of York University’s BFA Acting Conservatory, Tipelo has had the privilege of learning from and working alongside respected Canadian theatre artists including Keshia Palm, Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster, Keira Loughran, and Erika Batdorf. Her training continues to shape how she approaches performance, storytelling, leadership, and collaboration.
As a neurodiverse artist, Tipelo’s unique way of experiencing and processing the world is deeply connected to her creativity. It allows her to approach characters, stories, and challenges from unexpected perspectives and has taught her the value of curiosity, resilience, adaptability, and empathy, both onstage and behind the scenes.
For Tipelo, being an artist has never meant doing just one thing. It means performing, creating, collaborating, building community, and making space for other artists to do the same. Success isn’t only the work that reaches the stage; it’s also the people who find their confidence, their community, and the courage to create something they believe in.
